There’s something special about seeing young people from Geelong earn the chance to compete on a national stage. This September, Geelong United’s Under 14 Boys team is heading to Perth for the 2026 Australian Under 14 Club Championships, and Community Chapman Welsh is proud to support them on their trip.
The boys are the only Victorian country boys’ team to qualify this year. It’s an achievement they can be incredibly proud of, and one that reflects the commitment of their coaches and families, as well as the work they’ve put in together as a team.
At CCW, giving back to the communities we’re part of matters to us. Geelong is home for many of our team members and clients. We see the time and care people put into local clubs, whether they’re coaching, volunteering, driving to training or cheering from the sidelines. Those clubs give young people a place to build friendships, grow in confidence and work towards something together.
That’s why we love seeing young people go after their goals. When this team qualified for nationals, we wanted to help them make the most of the opportunity.
This one also has a personal connection for our team. Jack, one of the players, is the grandson of my fellow director, Frank Welsh. We know Frank will be following every game closely, and the rest of us will be right there with him, cheering from Geelong.
To the boys: congratulations on making it this far. Enjoy the trip, look after each other and give it everything you’ve got. We’re proud to support you and can’t wait to see how you go.
